The service
The Herb Kitchen provides tools for meal logging, nutrition awareness, recipes, pantry and shopping organization, meal planning, and optional AI-assisted drafts. Features may differ by platform, plan, region, release stage, or account eligibility.
Not medical advice
The Herb Kitchen is an educational planning tool, not a medical device or healthcare service. Nutrition estimates, product scores, recommendations, and AI responses do not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any condition and are not a substitute for a physician or registered dietitian.
Seek qualified care for allergies, pregnancy, eating disorders, deficiencies, medication interactions, or any medical concern. For urgent or emergency help, contact local emergency services.
Accounts and acceptable use
Creating an account requires you to affirmatively accept the current Privacy Policy and these Terms of Use. We record the accepted document versions, server timestamp, account identifier, and acceptance source to document that agreement.
Provide accurate account information, protect your credentials, and promptly report suspected unauthorized access. You are responsible for activity under your account and for ensuring that you are authorized to manage any household profile you create.
Do not misuse the service, bypass access or subscription controls, interfere with security, scrape or overload systems, upload unlawful or harmful material, impersonate others, or use outputs to make automated high-impact health decisions.
Your content and AI-assisted drafts
You retain ownership of content you submit. You give us a limited license to host, process, reproduce, and transform that content only as needed to operate, secure, and improve the services described in the Privacy Policy.
AI features create drafts and suggestions, not guaranteed facts. You must review ingredients, allergens, portions, nutrition values, substitutions, and actions before relying on or saving them. You remain responsible for what you choose to publish or share.
Subscriptions and billing
Paid plans, prices, billing periods, any trial or introductory offer, and available capabilities are shown before purchase through the applicable app store. Auto-renewing subscriptions continue and are charged through that store unless you cancel under its subscription terms. Review the store’s purchase confirmation and renewal information before subscribing.
Apple handles App Store purchases under the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions. Google handles Google Play purchases under the Google Play Terms of Service. The applicable store’s rules and mandatory consumer law govern charges, renewals, cancellation timing, and refunds; these shared service terms do not override them.
Manage or cancel an Apple subscription in the Apple Account that purchased it, or a Google Play subscription in the Google Account that purchased it. Deleting the app or your Herb Kitchen account does not itself cancel a store subscription. Cancel through the purchasing store to stop future renewals under that store’s rules.
iOS and Apple App Store licensing
If you obtain The Herb Kitchen through Apple’s App Store, the app is licensed to you by Ethos Engine Labs LLC under Apple’s Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement (EULA). These shared service terms supplement that license for your use of The Herb Kitchen services; they do not replace it with a custom EULA. If these service terms conflict with that EULA on app licensing, the EULA controls.
The Standard EULA governs permitted use of the Apple app, including use on Apple devices you own or control and applicable Apple Usage Rules. Any Family Sharing or volume-purchase use is subject to those rules and the availability of the relevant app or purchase; these terms do not promise shared subscription entitlements.
Ethos Engine Labs LLC provides The Herb Kitchen and its support. Apple is not responsible for maintaining or supporting our app or for our content. The Standard EULA and applicable law govern warranty remedies, product claims, and intellectual-property claims relating to the Apple app. Nothing in these shared service terms removes a remedy or consumer right that applies under that EULA or mandatory law.
Android and Google Play licensing
If you obtain The Herb Kitchen through Google Play, these shared service terms govern your use of our app and services alongside the applicable Google Play Terms of Service. Subject to those terms and applicable law, Ethos Engine Labs LLC grants you the limited license described below to use the Android app on devices you own or control. Apple’s Standard EULA applies only to the Apple app and does not govern Android or web use.
Ethos Engine Labs LLC is responsible for The Herb Kitchen, its content, and app support. Direct app questions to our support contact below. Use Google Play’s purchase and subscription support for Google Play billing matters; a purchase through one store does not itself cancel or refund a purchase through another store.
Third-party services and reference data
The service can rely on app stores, AI providers, nutrition databases, product databases, imported websites, and other third-party services. Their availability and content can change. Reference data may be incomplete, community-contributed, or specific to a different product formulation, so verify important information against the current label or a qualified source.
You must comply with applicable third-party terms when using the service, including the terms for your app-store account and network access. Our terms do not grant rights to third-party content or services beyond the rights their providers allow.
Intellectual property
The Herb Kitchen name, product design, software, and original materials are owned by Ethos Engine Labs LLC or its licensors and are protected by applicable law. Subject to the Apple app licensing provisions above, these terms grant you a personal, limited, revocable, non-transferable right to use the service; they do not transfer ownership. The app is licensed, not sold.
Availability, suspension, and termination
Early-access features may change, pause, or be withdrawn. We may limit or suspend access to protect users, comply with law, address security risks, or enforce these terms. You may stop using the service and delete your account at any time. Sections that by their nature should survive termination remain effective.
Disclaimers and liability
To the extent permitted by law, the service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of uninterrupted availability, accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. To the extent permitted by law, Ethos Engine Labs LLC is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages arising from use of the service.
Some jurisdictions do not permit certain exclusions or limitations, so these provisions apply only to the extent allowed. Nothing in these terms limits rights that cannot lawfully be waived.
Governing terms and contact
These terms are governed by the laws of Connecticut, excluding conflict-of-law rules, except where your local consumer law requires otherwise. If part of these terms is unenforceable, the remainder continues in effect. We may update the terms and will identify material revisions by date.
